On a river in SC, found this beauty. Chalcopyrite ore/vein throughout this rock. I am thinking about starting a Greer/Spartanburg/Greenville gold hunters club,
The club sounds like a good idea. I’m retired/unemployed and would love to make some money panning for gold. Is that feasible or just a pipe dream? With gold prices being so high I would think you could make some money of you just knew where to look.
that sir, is a beautiful rock you have blessed the viewers of youtube with
Hey just came acrossed your video,Did you ever get a club up.Im in Roebuck SC.
I am up in Kings Mtn, gimme a shout if you have the club up and running
Chuck. If you start the club please count me in. I now live in Calabash, NC but wil be moving to Manning, SC soon. I’am a retired shrimp boat captain. Have lots of time on my hands. Capt Rex at 843-283-0459
I’m in-between Greenville @ Spartanburg in the community known ad Sugar Tit and I’d love to see a club started up in the upstate. I own and operate a small machine shop so I would be very willing to help make anything we wold need just to save the cash from buying overpriced equipment. I can be reached at “ChucknSC@yahoo.com”
I’m moving to the Simpsonville area in late May from Kansas. This has been a desire of mine since I was a young child. Grew up in small town Kansas. My home town was the only town, to my knowledge, in the state of Kansas with a Gold. I have taken a job in upstate (Greenville) with a hospital. Would love to hook up with a group. Feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com. I would be more than happy to organize group. James
Thanks, great info there!
I can tell you where that boulder came from , first though don’t ever spend the gold that you get , just keep acumulating it if the banks get their hands on it it will disapear forever , second look carefully at the rock it’s quartz , quartz rock wears quickly the edges look sharp , My guess is that it broke from a cliff , look for cliffs that run along the river , there is probably a large vein and you caught the edge of it, I found Gold in Connecticut but the state takes everything ,sucks here
OK! I prospect in upstate. Lets all get together
where in south carolina did u find this rock with gold on it??? im from greenville sc how far from greenville was this
Sigh next time better luck! Crossing me fingers over here!
I did crush it and sample it. Crushed it to at least 100 mesh with no gold visible. Still need to have another chunk assayed to make sure. The river this came from is huge, and where it is resting there are boulders bigger then cars, so that rock could have traveled very far.
Ok Ok I give up! What was in that rock? I Mean you did crush and wash it did you not????
Would love to know.. ps the source is very close by.
I didnt have much luck in Greer finding any shine. I will PM you the link to a eastern prospectors forum where we talk about SC gold in more detail.
Yup many times, some great folk there. Crystal Jim, etc.
Have you ever been to Thermal City Gold mine in NC?
Its chalcopyrite, its hard to see it up close on this video but it has a tetragonal crystal structure. If it was pyrite it would be cubic.
